Install meshy

Install meshy in an existing Godot project or start with a new 3D project. Use Godot 4.7+. Desktop editor libraries support Linux x86-64, Windows x86-64, and macOS Intel and Apple Silicon.

  1. Download meshy.zip from meshy on itch.io.
  2. Close the Godot editor for your project.
  3. Extract the archive into your project folder, beside project.godot.
  4. Check that addons/meshy/meshy.gdextension exists inside your project.
  5. Open the project in Godot and let it import the addon.
  6. Open the 3D workspace and enable Meshy.

meshy registers its editor tools automatically. Follow Create your first mesh to draw a box and save your scene.

Back up your project and save your scenes before updating. Close Godot, replace addons/meshy/ with the folder from the new archive, and reopen the project. Keep your own materials and other project assets outside the addon folder so an update does not replace them.

  • Check that you are using Godot 4.7+ and a supported desktop architecture.
  • Check the folder path: avoid an extra meshy/ directory around addons/.
  • Keep the archive’s bin/ folder inside addons/meshy/.
  • Restart Godot after installing or updating. Check Godot’s Output panel for extension-loading errors if meshy still does not appear.

Save your meshy scenes before exporting. Games use the saved meshes and collision shapes. The addon archive includes runtime libraries for desktop, Android, iOS, and Web exports. Install Godot’s matching export templates for your target.

Web support is experimental. Enable Extensions Support in the Web export preset; threaded and non-threaded exports are supported.
